Harrow Hong Kong pupil Wilf (Year 5, Horse) overcame older players to achieve a third place result at the recent Hong Kong Junior Chess Championships.

Wilf is eligible to compete in the U9 category, but instead took on a much tougher challenge in the U11 event and played well to claim third out of the 39 U11 players.

The tournament was organised by Hong Kong Juniors Chess and took place at the Creative Secondary School, Tseung Kwan O.

In spite of his young age, Wilf is a regular at Harrow Hong Kong’s weekly chess enrichment for Upper School pupils.
