Two teams of students performed outstandingly in the International History Bee and Bowl championships in Hong Kong. In the Individual Bee, there were excellent performances from every student, with three winning medals. In the Middle School division, Julien Levieux (Y9, Churchill) made it to the final and impressively defeated all his opponents to secure 1st place, with Jake Rockwell (Y8, Banks) coming runner up, and Russell Kwok (Y7, Shackleton) in 4th place. In the Middle School team, Julien Levieux (Y9, Churchill) made it to the final and impressively defeated all his opponents to secure 1st place. In the Junior Varsity section, Eugene Lam (Y11, Peel) raced to victory with a commanding display of historical knowledge.
Both bowl teams should also be congratulated for the manner in which they progressed through their preliminary rounds, making it into the knockout stages, and winning their sections of the tournament. In the final, the Middle School team defeated Shatin College, and the Junior Varsity team defeated Creative Secondary School to claim overall victory.
The Middle School team was represented by Julien Levieux (Y9 Churchill), Jake Brockwell (Y8 Banks), Kevin Zheng (Y9 Churchill), Oscar Kennedy (Y8 Banks), and Russell Kwok (Y7 Shackleton), and in the Junior Varsity by Gary Feng (Y11 Churchill), Jonathan Lau (Y11 Churchill), Eugene Lam (Y11 Peel), David Wong (Y11 Peel), and Edison Tsang (Y10 Peel).
