Sixth Form Information
Joining the Sixth Form (Year 12) at Harrow Hong Kong provides an opportunity for students to strive for academic excellence, enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities, develop as a young adult and build a platform for becoming leaders of the future.
The range of A-level subjects offered currently includes Art, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Economics, English, French, Geography, Government & Politics, History, Mathematics (and Further Mathematics), Music, Physics, Philosophy & Religious Studies, and Spanish. All subjects are offered according to demand and availability. In Year 12 students take 4 subjects at AS-level and in Year 13, they continue with at least 3 of these subjects at A2 level. We expect our students to undertake the Extended Project Qualification as an additional AS-level, and our Harrow Hong Kong International Perspectives course is part of the core curriculum in Year 12.
Class sizes are small and teaching is a fusion of traditional and innovative techniques, such as the Harkness method. Students in the Sixth Form are expected to accept a greater level of responsibility for their own academic study as they prepare for the world of university beyond and also take advantage of the excellent opportunities available to take part in, and lead, activities in sport, music, drama and a host of other events as part of our Leadership-in-Action programme.
Our students apply and gain entry to the world's top universities in the UK, USA, and Hong Kong, together with Canada, Australia and other countries. Please refer here for last year’s A-level results and university destinations. The School has a Sixth Form Leader, who coordinates guidance to all our Sixth Form students relating to university applications and careers.
