Visits and Expeditions
The expeditions in the Prep School (Years 6-8) build on the foundation of confidence, skills and teamwork that students develop through the Pre-Prep School (Years 1-5) Adventure Camps/Sleepovers. All students in Years 3-8 have the opportunity to attend an Adventure Challenge Camp each year. These challenging and fun expeditions provide valuable learning experiences outside the academic classroom. Each year group’s camp in the Prep School involves a service or ecological aspect to encourage students to think about others and the environment.
The activities on camp are well within the capabilities of the students, though they may discover that they are taken 'out of their comfort zone.' Each camp requires a level of commitment and offers students the chance to succeed in a new setting. Students not only enjoy these trips, but are often surprised to find that they possess the determination, adaptability and sense of teamwork to rise to the challenges presented.
A variety of other trips and expeditions take place during the School holidays and students from all Upper School years have the opportunity to join these. These range from curriculum-based trips to adventure, cultural and service expeditions. Recent trips have included: Eco-Bungalow Build in Laos, US Universities Tour, Galapagos Islands, New Zealand Adventure Expedition, Canadian Ski Trip, Football Tour to Madrid, PRS trip to Berlin and Krakow, Vietnam History Trip, Beijing Language Trip.
