SILVER SUCCESS AT ASIAN CADET & JUNIOR FENCING CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Harrow Hong Kong’s international fencer Terence (Year 13, Peel) who earned a silver  medal at the recent Asian Cadet & Junior Fencing Championship (ACJFC) in Dubai.

ACJFC is one of the biggest competitions throughout the season. Terence, who achieved bronze at the same event last year, was the third seed going into the competition in UAE in the Junior (U20) category.

Terrence performed strongly throughout the rounds of competition in the Sabre category, securing himself a medal with a victory over a Japanese rival in the semi-final.

In the final, Terence had to fight back after a tough start against his Korean opponent, pulling back from 4-8 down at the break to draw level at 12-12.  Terence eventually succumbed to his rival 15-13, but took home the silver medal for his efforts.

Terence believes that the experience has made him better prepared for his next big event, which is the World Cadet & Junior Fencing Championship held in Italy next month where he is aiming for a top 16 finish.

All at Harrow Hong Kong wish Terence the best of luck with his preparations to compete in Italy.
