VALUABLE EXPERIENCE GAINED ON TERENCE’S SENIOR WORLD CUP FENCING DEBUT

Harrow Hong Kong star fencer Terence (Year 13, Peel) experienced his first taste of senior international competition at the FIE World Cup event in Gyor, Hungary earlier this month.

The event attracted some 200 top-level individual competitors and 25 teams from around the world, with Terence, representing Hong Kong, one of the youngest competitors at the event.

Terence contested the Sabre discipline, taking on rivals from Iran, Poland, Belgium, USA and Ukraine.  With some contests won and some lost against more senior opposition, he has gained valuable experience and has now earned a senior world ranking of 147 out of 600 following his first event at this level.

He achieved a junior world ranking of 23rd out of 300 last year, and will return to Hungary over the Christmas break to compete at the Junior World Cup in Budapest where we wish him the very best of luck.
