Senior Team Maths Challenge 2015

The Senior Team Maths Challenge was organised with an aim to promote mathematical dexterity, teamwork and communication skills. We also wanted to give students the opportunity to compete against students from other schools in Hong Kong.

Over 100 students and 20 teachers from Hong Kong were welcomed to the School to compete in three rounds of fiendish mathematical problems. A calm first round of ten questions was followed by a manic crossnumber round in which the intricate marking challenged the teachers as much as the questions challenged the students. The final round required passing answers to and fro in a shuttle format.

There were 192 points on offer across the competition. In joint second place with an impressive 175 points were King George V and Sha Tin College. Just pipping them to the post, by one point, was our very own team from Harrow Hong Kong.

The other Harrow Hong Kong team came a commendable 7th out of 27, with 148 points.

There will be a Junior version of the competition for Years 6 to 8 in the Summer Term and we will be inviting the schools back for a Senior rematch next year.
