The English Department gathered around 100 poems and short stories to create the second anthology of literature from Harrow Hong Kong Upper School students called The Blossom Tree. The book enables students to have their words read by the wider school community, fostering a sense of accomplishment, joy and pride in their work. All of this year’s writing came from the School’s three termly writing competitions: the Autumn Term’s Poetry Competition and the Spring and Summer Term’s theme-based Creative Writing Competitions.
This year the anthology is curated by five themes: ‘Magic’, ‘To Err is Human and to Forgive Divine’, ‘Fantastic Imaginings’, ‘Identity’, and ‘Adventure’. There are also some outstanding illustrations by Art students throughout the book that were inspired by the poems and stories. Many thanks to Cici Hua (Y13, Ward) whose cover art captures the spirit of the book perfectly.
