Year 2 Trip to Disneyland

With the end of term fast approaching, the magic of the holiday season was in the air for Year 2 on 5 December 2016. Beautiful December sunshine greeted us as we arrived at the park to tuck into our yummy sandwiches and apples. We visited Adventureland first and were immediately surrounded by the sounds and smells of Africa. The children managed to spot djembe drums before they were even asked! After a thrilling ride on the Jungle River Cruise, we explored the drum and totem pole areas. We had great fun having a go on the different African drums and practising our base, tone and slap! The totem poles were not all that they seemed, however, and some of us got wet!

We concluded Adventureland with a wonderful performance of Festival of the Lion King. The acting and singing were top notch and the children behaved fantastically despite a minor technical hitch! We also visited Fantasyland after our sojourn in Africa and had a great time exploring It’s a Small World and the Spinning Tea Cups! After some snacks we returned to the School thoroughly happy but exhausted by our magical day out! A big thank you to our parent helpers without whom the trip would not have been possible!
