CIS Road Race 2016

On Saturday 12 March, twenty Harrow Hong Kong students from the U9’s and U10’s Cross-Country teams competed in a road race against runners from other schools at Chinese International School.

The U9 girls had some great individual results, notably from Iona Alexander (Y4D) in ninth place and Lexi Joseph-Hui (Y4M) finishing in tenth place. In the team category the U9 girls were Champions in first place, beating the field as a group, with Iona, Lexi, Athena Yung (Y4C), Adelaide Green (Y4C) and Tiggy Tutt (Y4C) representing Harrow Hong Kong.

In the U9 boys’ event the School had some outstanding individual results by Jack Callan (Y4C) who finished sixth out of 80 other athletes taking part. Overall, as a team they finished in eigth place.

The U10 girls all ran extremely well with Eva Morley (Y5E) achieving the best individual performance from Harrow Hong Kong, finishing in third place. In the team event the girls came fifth overall, which is an excellent result.

The U10 boys finished first as a team, with all boys being placed in the top 18 competitors: Luka Brun (Y5L), Arthur Clayton (Y5E), Luca Clowes (Y5E), Robbie Haik (Y5L) and Lewis Harrison (Y5E). Luka displayed outstanding perseverance finishing in fourth place.

Overall, it was an excellent effort by all the students. They are now all looking forward to training and aiming to achieve even better results next year.
